The Lazar kit was similar in appearance to the Bullz Audio kit. Lanzar included blue power wire consisting of bare CCA and a ground wire made of tinned CCA for a blue/silver color scheme that matched the Bullz Audio. I received mixed measurements on the Lanzar bare CCA strands ranging from 0.19 to 0.20mm but will give Lanzar the benefit of the doubt as most seemed to measure 0.20mm. Using more strands and an ever so slightly larger strand gave the Lanzar cable a 12.53mm^2 area or that of 7 gauge, which puts it in the dead middle of the pack of 7 amp kits.
Advertised as an 1800 watt amp kit, the Lanzar AMPKIT4 was one of three kits in our review to include an 80A AGU fuse. This put the Lanzar kit near the top of our “Volts to Watts” claim scale. Coming in at second on what is a very exaggerated list, the Lanzar kit would need 22.5V to reach 1800 watts from a 100% efficient amplifier. All this from a 4 gauge cable that is smaller then the KnuKonceptz KLMX and KCA 8 gauge we rate at a maximum of 50 amps!
Lanzer kept with the blue/silver theme even with the speaker wire. Out of the 7 kits, Lanzar was the only one to use tinned Copper Clad Aluminum speaker wire. The negative conductor was a clear PVC and the positive a matching blue PVC. Included was 20′ of speaker wire, no where is the gauge mentioned on the packaging and rightfully so. The AMPKIT4 supplied the smallest gauge speaker wire out of the group, measuring in as 22 gauge!.
Another feature only found in the Lanzar amp installation kit, the RCA cables had one end with right angle RCA connectors. The Lanzar interconnects were very similar to the ones found in the DB Link PK4Z. In fact they have the exact same internal construction and almost identical molded ends. Shielding on the Lanzar RCA cable comes from its 24 gauge copper clad aluminum ground shield and like most of the RCA cables reviewed, no foil shielding underneath the ground shield. Overall the Lanzar interconnects were on par with the majority of the cables and that is unfortunate for consumers.
Conclusion – Lanzar holds an edge over the Bullz Audio kit because of a better fuse holder and is slightly better value then kits from XXX and Legacy because it has a slight power wire area advantage. Overall it comes in 4th place.
